تعاويذ العالم الآخر هى قناة تلفزيونية عالمية ترفيهية متخصصة في مجال الطهي ونمط العالم الآخر تأسست عام ٢٠٢٠. تبث القناة برامج حوارية ومواد دعائية لها علاقة بالحفظ والتمثيل الرقمي من زاوية التاريخ الشخصي والجماعي. شعار القناة هو: وانتصر على الفناء، وأصبح نجماً في السماء، ساطعاً دائم الخلود
الموت يشغل بال كل البشـر، ففكرته تلوح دوماً في الأفق في كل الحضارات التي سطعت شموسـها واختفت. تتشارك الثقافة المصريـة القديمـة وكذلك المجتمـع المعاصـر فـي الخوف من الـزوال والرغبة في الخلود. تعاويـذ العالم الآخر يطرح تساؤلات متوازية تتراوح بيـن الطقوس المصرية القديمـة ومنصات التواصل الاجتماعي وعلاقتهمـا بالخلود، فـي مُحاولـة لسبر أغوار المجتمـع وكيـف يـرى العالـم حولـه. فـي هـذا العـرض تسـتخدم صيغـة فنيـة معاصـرة وهـي برامـج التـوك الشـو ممتزجة مـع فقـرات الطهـي
Death Spells 2021
In collaboration with Ferdinand Klüsener, and Peira (Chris Herzog and Alma Wellner Bou)
An international food and afterlifestyle TV channel established in 2020, Death Spells, broadcasts talk shows and advertisements dealing with digital representation and preservation. The channel’s motto is “And you defeated mortality, and became a star in the sky, shining eternally.”
Ancient Egyptians believed in resurrection as a tool to defeat mortality and access infinity, hence their outstanding mummification practices attempted to preserve the body and slow down decay. The same pursuit to attain immortality is clear in digital representations, for example on social media.
Death Spells questions parallel promises of immortality made by ancient Egyptian funerary rituals and social media practices. It searches for the core of contemporary society’s worldview using a true format of our times- a TV talk show complete with cookery demonstrations. Your hosts converse a panel of guests who are each in their own way an ‘expert in death’. The whole spectacle promises to be a memorable evening, with a peculiarly taboo subject at its heart and a delicious shared meal at its conclusion.
